Every day you see on the news how unemployment has gone down. They
express how things are improving; the housing market, unemployment. The economy
is improving to the point the stock market is doing well. I wonder how many of
those individuals who are losing their homes and/or still looking for a job
believe what the government is saying.
The one reason the unemployment has went down is because those
individuals have exceed their benefits and no long can get unemployment. And
now they are taking jobs at $8.50 to $10.00 an hour. For moment let me
calculate how much that is a week; $340.00 to $400.00 a week and this is before
taxes are taken out. And you certainly cannot afford to have insurance taken
out. Does anyone know how in today economy someone can live off those amounts
with that being their only income? Now stop and think...gas is going up, the
cheapest place for rent is about $430.00 a month (Studio), there is your
monthly utilities, car insurance, telephone, and pray to God you do not get
sick.
Just stop a moment and try to acknowledge those who are on social
security and trying to survive living in today's economy. There are times I
would like to call someone in the government and ask them to live just six
months on what others are living on...and then tell me that the economy;
unemployment, housing have improved. The question I would like to ask is...for
whom?
The government has never lied to us before...have they? So they
are not lying to us now...Right? Perhaps...we need to stop listening to the
government and starting making our own truths.
